Flu Season

Flu season has arrived and I'm starting to feel the effects of a sore throat and stuffy head. So I thought I'd share a few of my tips for chasing away the start of a cold or helping yourself once you've got one. After all we all want to be well and fast!

Tip One: garlic and horseradish tablets and ecinasia (sp?) are the best you can get for colds!

Tip Two: as soon as you feel you are getting sick e.g sore throat or stuffy head, then take a dosage of the tablets. They wont hurt you.

Tip Three: Try to eat healthy and get enough sleep each night. You'll keep healthy and prevent anything coming near you.

Tip Four: Fresh orange juice (or any fruit or veggie juice) is excellent for getting rid of sickness.

Tip Five: Get your hands on some REALLY good quality honey... look out for ones that are NOT heat treated as they hold the most anti-Bactria ingredients to keep colds away or help you get well fast.

Tip Six: add garlic to as many meals as possible! Nothing well come near you then lol!

Well I hope these tips are of help. They are probly common sense but are what I use!

What does stress mean to me! I thought I’d write this blog because I’m really starting to feel the pressure at the moment. I’m certain that I don’t need to feel stress at all, in fact God instructs us not to worry. But I thought I’d share what happens to me when I feel stressed out.

- Headaches
- Neck ache
- Sleepless nights
- Hunger
- Thinking, thinking, thinking
- Planning, re-planning, re-re-planning!!!
- Talking and talking and more talking
- Busyness
- Pacing
- Praying
- Eye rubbing
- Writing

So maybe your wondering what I do to help relieve stress.

- Talk to someone, anyone, everyone
- Write it down (blog or prayer journal)
- Long warm shower/bath
- Music
- Write down plans
- Get away from the stress
- Pray, Pray, Pray (nothing else helps more than prayer)
- Eat
- Cuddles from Jeff!

I don’t know how you feel or how you react to stress but if you have anything interesting to share then drop it into the comment box. Sharing is caring J

Today Rachel and I went shopping. I haven't been buying too many 'things'lately because we are trying to save up for a house and pay off any debt. It was a lot of fun just buying myself something and not thinking about saving for just a moment. I thought I'd share my purchases.

This lovely black pencil skirt.
You can't see but it has a really cute little back bit. I can't wait to wear it out somewhere.

I bought these nice little black heels to go with my skirt. Not too high so could be school heels... maybe.

This was my last purchase. Intimacy Ignited. It's a christian book about sex within marriage. I've not read it yet so I'm hoping it's good. Shall let you know.

It was a great day out and I'm happy with what I bought. We also got a letter confirming our booking at Maleny Manor (eeek excited!!!!) and I'm going dress shopping with Talia and Rachel on Saturday which I'm excited about too.

We Have a Date

Saturday 9th October 2010 is our official wedding date! On Sunday morning my parents decided that we could book Maleny Manor for our wedding. They love it just as much as Jeff and I do and are more then happy for us to have our wedding at this venue! I'm really pleased and excited! Mum did mention that the date is not during the school holidays so I might have to take a little time off... if I have a job.

Jeff and I have been writing budgets (several different drafts), reaching loans, looking at what we can borrow and looking at homes. We're getting closer to actually trying to get pre-approval! It's going to be tough as my job options are not looking very good at the moment. I've got a lot more fighting to do before a job will come flying my way. But I'm praying for God's will and strength.

I had my 2year eye specialist appointment today and found out that the pressure in my eyes is the highest it's ever been. So I have to go back in 5 weeks to have it checked again. It can lead to bad things if it's not treated or sorted out quickly. It could just be caused by stress (as if I have stress at the moment...)

Other then that I'm just really excited about Jeff's and my wedding and cannot wait to do some more planning for the big day! Wooohooo!

Exciting times ahead!

Well things are coming together really well. I've found my dream wedding dress and we are now thinking about whether I will find a dress maker or if my grandma would make it. She really wants to make it so we'll have to see if she's up to it. She's almost 80!!!!! Tomorrow we are going to look at the reception place we really like and if all goes well we will set it in stone and I'll have a wedding date to update you on.

I know that exciting times are here and also ahead. I almost feel like I'm jumping out of my skin with excitement. I'm also feeling weirdly emotional about the whole thing. I love Jeff so much and I just cannot believe that its really happening. I don't know why God wants to bless me so much but I'm extremely glad He is. I just cannot live my life without Jeff by my side anymore. I'm no longer just me but we will soon be one.

It also looks like Jeff and I can seriously look at buying a house in the next few months. There is still a lot to work out but we're going to the bank to see how much we can borrow. I absolutely cannot wait to own my own house. I've also got an interview with the education department's district office on Tuesday to sort out my job options. I really pray it goes well as I need a job. Please pray for us :)
