29th November 2008

This will defiantly be a date that I wont ever forget because Jeff at long last got down on one knee and proposed to me YAY!!!!! I was totally tricked into thinking we were going to Sydney to celebrate Rachel and Aaron’s and Talia and Luke’s one year wedding anniversaries. Turns out that was only part of the reason we went. Everyone already knew that he was going to propose. He had even asked my parents for permission a month or so before hand. He’s such a good boy!

So here is how the whole night panned out…!

We all decided that Saturday night would be a date night for everyone. So at 3pm Jeff and I headed back to his sisters house to get ready. Rachel, Aaron, Talia and Luke went there ways later on because they all stayed together.

Jeff and I got ready and he called a taxi to pick us up. Just as we were about to leave he gave me a beautiful pink rose in a case and a really sweet card. We headed into the city to a restaurant called Est (The Establishment). I knew we were going for dinner there and was very impressed at how beautiful the place was. We had the best table in the house right next to the huge big window that looked out onto the street. As I was looking at the menu the manager of the restaurant present me with a huge bunch of roses and lilies and another lovely card from Jeff. I was so overwhelmed.

We had the most gorgeous dinner topped off by a chocolate dessert which was GREAT! When it was time to leave Jeff made me close my eyes and walked me to the taxi which was waiting outside for us. I wasn’t allowed to open my eyes until he told me. When I opened them we were standing on the Sydney harbour about to get onto a boat. But not just any boat, a water limousine. Spifffffyyy!

Jeff helped me on boat and we went on a lovely cruise around the harbour, past the opera house, past the bridge and all around. I remember the water was sparkling like I’d never seen before. The driver stopped the boat in the middle of the harbour and Jeff told me to stand up so I would see the bridge and the Opera house together. When I stood up, he got down on one knee. He presented me with my ring and asked me to marry him. WOOOHOOO! Of course I said yes. It was amazing. The boat driver was so happy that he took pictures of us too and is emailing them to us. He told us that his 9 year old daughter wanted to see the people that got engaged on his boat. Awwww so cute. Oh and Jeff also gave me another HUGE bunch of lilies and roses on the boat.

When we got off the boat I rang EVERYONE I could possible call. Talia and Luke met up with us first and Rachel and Aaron came next. We went and had coffee at a nice café just over from the harbour and everyone helped me carry my 2 huge bunches of lilies and roses and my single pink rose.

After coffee it was raining pretty badly so the others went home. Jeff’s sister picked us up and we went to darling harbour for more coffee and a chat which was great. It was the most special and wonderful weekend ever! I’m so happy and I love being engaged to Jeffrey.

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It's still November and Christmas time has already begun. At school I've started reading Christmas stories, writing letters to Santa and the preps have been making cards, photo frames and wrapping paper. We've also been singing lots of Christmas carols. So I've dragged out the Christmas CDs and Christmas stories to share with all the classes I'm with.

But what has really made it feel like Christmas is that one of my Year 1 students gave me a Christmas card yesterday. My first card of the year! Now it REALLY feels like Christmas.

And in other news, 3 days til I go to Sydney wooohoo!

And in other other news, I need to re-organise my teaching resources into folders. I started a little tonight and found that I have HEAPS of paper to get rid of. Mainly from my pracs.

My 22nd Birthday

I have been so busy that I haven't had time to blog about my birthday yet. It was a great one and I'm not even feeling older at all!

On my actual birthday I had to work and after work I had to go to a literacy training course. So the day wasn't all that exciting. Jeff gave me my favourite chocolates in the morning and stayed to make me some breakfast. I had a family dinner on the Friday night and my friends organised a suprise bbq at the beach on the Saturday night which was fun.

I got lots of great presents. Christmas house stuff, money, wine glasses, chocolate, teapot and cup, plants, jewlery box, other house stuff, a money box and such. It was great! And Jeff gave me some Casting Crowns CDs which I love!

Check out some pictures here

November the Great

I wanted to let everyone know that November is a great month. There is a few reasons for this. First of all its my birthday YAY! 12th November so don't forget. It's also most christmas time which means decorations, christmas carols and present buying/making.

This year for my birthday I'm just having dinner with my family sometime during the week and as a little treat I am going to Sydney wooohoo. I'm quite exciting! I'm also apparently having a party... I know nothing about.

As for christmas time, I'm looking forward to decorating our tree and house. I'm also planning out christmas presents for everyone. I love cooking something each year so I wont say too much or you will all know exactly what it is. Christmas time is such fun.

I hope that everyone enjoys November as much as I do. And it's getting warm!

On My Desk

I took this idea from Talia's blog because I thought it was interesting to read about. I'm going to tell you everything that is on my desk and why it is there. You will pretty much have an idea of what I've been doing lately from this.

- Post it notes with phone numbers of mechanics
- Letter from EQ to re-register as a supply teacher for 2009
- School diary and planning folder
- Slide show print out about handwriting
- Jeff's pocket chopsticks
- Car engine diagram printouts
- Chocolate coated coffee beans
- My phone
- CDs
- A stick of ram
- Teddies I won from claw machines (or people have won for me)
- A pen holder with pens

So as you can see my life is full of school stuff and Jeff's car stuff. Not so exciting at the moment!

Carmy Life Update

My blogging has become rather lacking as of late. That's because I've been busy with teaching. I thought I'd give you an update on what I do exactly and about all the other interesting things that have been happening around here.

My job at school is basicy to fill in non-contact time for teachers and in some cases act as an extra teacher during busy times. My days are full on as I made all over the place, teaching different subjects. I'm also assessing, planning and observing children so time flys everyday. I'm really enjoying it and have been very well welcomed as a member of staff. Each day is different and brings about new challenges!

Things are going GREAT for Jeff. His application to the police force has gone through and he's up to the last exam and interview during November. All going well he'll be a new recruit in December which would be brilliant! His car is still having work done on it but he has got someone interested in test driving. We are praying it will be sold very soon!

Not a lot else has been happening really. It's almost my birthday and it's almost Christmas which is great. The end of the year is always lots of fun. But working full time and having a social life is catching up on me as I have a rotten cold and I'm pretty much exhausted. I'm tossing up taking a sick day tomorrow to get completely better but not sure just yet!

Loosing Tradition

Tonight I’ve been having a look through the wedding photos from my friend’s weddings and just a general look on google at wedding pictures. This got me thinking about weddings and marriage in general and it’s quite disappointing that getting married and having a wedding has lost its traditional value and meaning in our society.

When you are planning a wedding there is a lot to think about which I am definitely looking forward to someday (soon I hope) but amongst the dress, flowers, ceremony, cars, rings, suits and other arrangements I really sense that we’ve lost the reason for actually having a wedding and yet it is such a beautiful concept.

The father walks his daughter down the isle handing over something that is so precious to him to a man who loves his daughter and is going to take care of her for the rest of his life, make her his life. A public declaration of two peoples love for one another and the committing to one another for the rest of their lives.

I believe that marriage is almost a ‘trend’ in our society and not a lifetime commitment. When Jeff and I get married someday it will be a lifetime commitment protected and bond in strength by our Lord God and with our love for one another.

The Holidays are Over :(

Sadly it is the last day of the school holidays and I have to start back at work tomorrow. I'm stil not exactly sure what I will be doing but tomorrow I'll find out so its kind of exciting. I wish that I didn't dread the first day back so much because I know all will be good and I'll settle back into loving my teaching... but it's still hard as holidays are great!

Living without water

I woke up this morning to find out that we have a huge water leak somewhere and that Dad has turned off our water. However the bad news is that he has had to go to work and wont be able to fix it until he gets back home.

So this morning someone came out to find exactly where the leak is and now until Dad gets home we must live without water. Now until it happens you don't realise just how much you use water and how vital it really is. I definatly take it for granted. All that we have is two buckets of water for hand washing and two jugs of water for drinking. We can't flush the toilets, have showers, water my garden, wash hands (without walking downstairs to an already used bucket of water) and lots more. I have to say it sucks!!!!!!!!! But thank you God that we don't have to live our whole lives without water and that this is just tempory.

In other news I'm thinking about buying Adobe Photoshop CS3. Has anyone used it for can recommend anything better???

Arts Night

Jeff and I both went to the school's Arts Night on Thursday and I just had to share some pictures. All week we've been doing craft and I spent hours on Thursday making sure everthing looked good and our display was organised. I've never had to do anything like this and I'm sure I'll have plenty more presentations to do as a teacher but I felt SOOOOOO proud when I arrived and my kids stuff was on show.

I also got a lot of compliments that our art looked great which felt awsome. So have a look at our Yr 1/2's art display!

School Holidays!

At last they are here and I am so glad. Also what perfect weather to have holidays, it's the best! So i'm a bit of a spoiled girl. On my last day of school the kids made me a pretty breed braclet and I got offered a full time job for next term YAY!

My Job
I'm going to be here there and everywhere around the school. I'm mainly helping teach both prep classes as the teachers have almost 30 kids in each class. I'm also going to be doing NCT (non contact time) for the lower school. I don't have all the details yet but I'll most likely have a timetable for each day. I'm wondering how I'll go working everyday for 10 weeks, but i'm sure I can handle it.

My wonderful boyfriend Jeff also suprised me with two bunches of flowers on Saturday morning and took me out for breakfast to Maccas (because I love the pancakes haha.) Rachel and Aaron also came over for dinner on Saturday night and we have homemade pizza yum yum!

The weather is fantastic and it's holidays wooohooo!!!!

2 Days to Go

I cannot believe it, I only have 2 days left of my 3 week contract. I'm actually quite sad as this class is brilliant and I've had such fun. I've learnt a lot about teaching and how to deal with difficult troubles in and out of the classroom, other staff and students. I'm defiantly loving being a teacher.

This week has been art weeks and so far we have made different types of masks, photo frames, leaf wreaths, a life sized person (I'll have to take a picture), paper flowers and veggie people. Some days I come home thinking 'I can't believe they pay me to have that much fun!'

Jeff and I have made some picture purchases this week. We bought 2 sets of towels, 2 sets of summer sheets, place mats, a table runner and some stationary stuff. My glory box/cupboard/several rooms is totally taking over the house and I'm going to have to move some into Jeff's house very soon. I love to just look through everything and think about where I'd put it all in our own house.

On the house front we have defiantly decided that we'd much rather buy land and build a house OR buy a house rather than paying rent. So we are saving lots of money at the moment so that this will be possible. It's all very exciting!!!!!!!!

Something About Spring

There is just something amazing about spring time. It's like God's wonderful creation is at it's peak. Just the smell and feeling upon my skin is enough to bring me the most overwhelming joy! I LOVE SPRING TIME!!!!!

Teaching is going great and the class I have is wonderful. All of the teachers in my block came down to look at the Father's Day presents that we made which was a great feeling. Made me feel like a real teacher! As each day goes by I think that I might enjoy full time teaching more and more. I do think that I'll do some full time teaching if I get it offered but probably not forever.

And I've just found out that Christmas is only 16 weeks away WOW! So today while Jeff is working I"m going over to the Plaza to do a little Christmas shopping. I know, how organised am I!?! I might do a little 'for Carmy shopping' as well.

A Real Teacher

This has been my first week teaching on my contract. I'm loving it! I don't have much of a plan to follow so I can basically do whatever I feel like. This is some of the things we've gotten up to.

Father's Day Presents
I decided that we've make chocolate chip cookies for Father's Day and attach a card with ribbon. So today we cooked all day and made STACKS of cookies. We're going to wrap them up tomorrow. The kids loved cooking and I think that I might even make it a regular thin in my classroom one day. I like the idea of doing a healthy snake once a week.

Science Experiments
The kids in my class are doing a science Life Task at the moment so once a week we get to do an experiment. This week we did one called 'What Will Dissolve'. The kids loved it and we had no trouble writing it up. We have two more science afternoons so if you have any ideas let me know.

Since its spring time my class made handprint flowers and handprint butterflies as a display in our room. They look great but I'm never letting them near glitter again!!!

The teachers that i'm working with in my block are really nice and I feel so supported. Everyone treats me like a teacher which is so different from when I did my internship. So things are going great for me. I even have one day of teaching after the holidays as well at a different school so hopefully some contracts might come up there as well.

Busy for the rest of the term

As the title says, I'm busy for the rest of the term. I've been doing 3-4 days a week of relief work lately but today I got given a 3 week contract teaching Yr 1/2. This will bring me upto the end of term. There is a lot of stuff happening in the 3 weeks that I have to help out with. School photos, art week, white shirt day and Fathers day.

Already I've started a list of things to take in with me on Monday like science experients, a novel to complete, art materials I've been collecting and other bits and bobs for the classroom. I'm also doing to pick up the planning on Friday afternoon so I can get ahead of what needs to be organised.

I'm exstremly pleased to be getting so much work as I'm saving up my money so that Jeff and I will have enough for a deposit on land or a house when we get married. We are hoping to buy land and build on it however whether this will be possible I don't know!

Garden Update

No photos for this blog I'm afraid for two reasons. My camera isn't working very well and I'm using my laptop which does not contain any of my photos. So use your imagination!

Talia's Green Thumb video blog has inspired me to tell you about how my veggie garden is going. Good news mostly as my celery and spring onions are big and healthy. My carrots and parsnip are still very small but are all going well. Sad news for my peas as most of the plants have died however the ones which have survived are doing well and I'm hoping will produce plenty of peas.

On the weekend I'm planning on extending the garden to add some spring veggies. I'm planting pumpkin, watermellon, potatos, onions, tomatos, sweet corn, brocoli and culiflower. However first I have to dig up a new patch to plant them.

This term I've averaged two days a week supply teaching however this week I will have worked 3 days. Possibly more if I get days on Thursday and Friday. I must say I'm quite enjoying it and the work isn't really that hard. I've got a lot of strategies for dealing with classes and always have an activity on hand to fill in the time.

Steam Cleaner
For quite a while now Jeff and I have been discussing the idea of buying a steam cleaner. We felt that it would allow us to clean (when we have our own house one day) without harmful chemicals. So we found one of ebay for really cheap and it arrived. The bathroom at my house looks great now and it even cleans the carpets perfectly.

Bible Studies
Jeff and I were able to go to Talia and Lukes for a bible study the other night, than we had one at my house as well. Both were excellent and I felt that I learnt so much from each person that shared their thoughts. Both Jeff and I are hoping that we can make it to even more study nights and hopefully have some more at my house in the future.

Not a lot else to share at the moment as I am basicly just taking any work that I get and spending time with Jeff and my friends.

Irresistible Albert

Last Saturday night, Rachel, Aaron, Jeff and myself went to a little theatre in Nambour to see a play which Pete was in. The whole night consisted of pizza and drinks with 4 short act plays.

Pete played Irresistible Albert in the second play of the night. Albert was a geek who thought he was irresistible to women and that they’d follow him home. It was really funny and I can’t imagine a better person for the part than Pete. He did a fantastic job and everyone loved it!

The whole night was excellent and just reminded me how much I love seeing plays at the theatre. Well Done Pete!

Titanic - Adventure Out of Time

I made a wonderful discovery the other night when cleaning out my desk draws. My favourite computer game (when I was like 13 yrs old) Titanic – Adventure Out of Time, was tucked right up the back. Anyways I put it in the computer thinking that it would work AND amazingness of amazing, it worked!!!!!

Last night Jeff and I started to play it even thought Jeff felt it was pretty lame! We both got right into it and on his visit downstairs to get more food, Chris got involved too! I’m not really one of computer games but all of a sudden I looked at the clock and it was 1am! Much to my disappointment I had to save and go to bed but I’m so loving it.

Titanic has got to be the best game ever and if you’ve never played it you should, even just once. I’m addicted.

Women's Work

Lately I have been thinking about about being a wife and their role in the relationship. I've heard a lot of opinions on what a wife should do but I don't totally agree with some of them. My parents both work 5 days a week however I don't think that this will be me exactly. I know that the world we live in today is VERY expensive and we need a house, food, cars and will most likely have children etc. However to understand my point of thinking, you need to read Provers 31 in the bible.
I don't think God ever really intended women who are married to work full time, rather take care of the house, her husband and children. Maybe this sounds boring however God's word says 'Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates' Proverbs 31:31. What a wonderful promise. I'm sure that God has got many blessing in store for a faithful and hard working wife.

So lets got practical! How can one family survive on one income with expenses such as a mortgage, food bills, power & water bills, Internet, phone, pets and maybe even children??? Here is some ideas to help!

Start a vege patch with the essentials

Have a herb garden

Make your own bread

Cook your own snacks (i make muesli bars)

Cook from scratch (its far cheaper)

Plan out your meals for the week so you don't over buy at the shops

Look around for cheap fruit and veg

Plan out your car travel and use public transport when possible.

With the saving you make from food you can always put towards a mortgage, power bills, Internet etc. Healthier food, a lovely house to come home too and lower stress levels will help to create a happier and more relaxed household which in my opinion no amount of money can buy!

The Boring Bug

Thats right, as of late I've caught the boring bug and it sucks! Not only am I bored but I'm not motivated to do anything either. I have plenty of ideas of things to do but I can't be bothered. And this got me thinking about life in general, sometimes life is boring! I don't think God intends for earth to be a wonderful and exciting place all the time or we wouldn't want to go to heaven one day.

This also got me thinking about marriage. Now as you know, Jeff and I are getting closer to getting married and I think that the media does a real diservice to all people however especially to those considering marriage. We have to remember that life is NEVER like the media portrays it, we do have to go through the good, bad and boring and thats when I think true love comes in. True love is sticking by someone when things are less than exciting. Its easy to think that marriage will change everything and that you will never be bored again, after all the lead up to the marriage is huge. Rings, proposal, engagment party, hens/bucks nights, reherslas, dress fittings, planning, wedding day, gift etc etc. But after that you actually have to live together, love one another and face life!

When I see married people on TV or in magazines they are always going out, having fun and have exciting things happening 24/7 but thats not really how it works out. BUT as a clever friend of mine once said to me, just because your bored doesn't mean you have to stay that way. You always have the power to change whats happening around you.

So here is a few ideas that I have for flighting off the boring bug!

Spend time with God

Cook something yummy

Do something special for a friend

Write a letter to the one you love

Look at old pictures

Watch an old movie

Play with your pet

Find a hobbie you enjoy

Phone Call Day

Today I am officially calling 'The Phone Call Day'. I have had so many people ring today, Jeff, Rachel, Mum, Mum's friend, Ring shop, dry cleaning shop and 2 telemarketers. Insane! I haven't updated in a while because I've been pretty busy unpacking, cleaning up things, going out, shopping, church etc. School starts back next week so I'm hoping to get a fair bit of work during this term. I've been helping Jeff to fill out his police forms and they are such a big job! So many details that need to be given to them like all the houses you've lived in since he was 10. There is a lot!

The girls trip to Sydney was GREAT! We had sunshine for the whole time, it only rained on the day we went home. Being winter it was freezing and I mean FREEZING. Very windy as well. Our apartment was on the 74 floor in the highest hotel in Sydney and had the most wonderful view I have ever seen. We could see the coastline! During our time we went to the harbour, The Rocks, shopping, Bondi, Manly, pancakes, Luna park, visited my friend Phil, China town. Patty's markets, Darling Harbour and more shopping. We also drank a lot of coffee. Check out the pictures by going to my facebook here and also here.

Today I've been trying to motivate myself to do some more scrapbooking. I got a little disheartened because the glue on the back of the pictures make them blurry a bit. So I now have double sided tape to try. I think it will be such easier.

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

At long last I have officially graduated from CQU with a Bachelor of Learning Management! Today was the graduation which was well not really that exciting, its good to be finished though. I got to wear the gown and the hat and all. I wouldn’t say I enjoy those sort of events but it’s nice that I was able to go.

It feels great to know that I now have a degree and no matter what I can always go and do teaching (as long as the BLM stands for something in other places). Facebook is the place to visit to see some photos

Also in 8 and half hours myself, Mum, Rachel, Kathryn and Mrs B head on off to Sydney for 2 nights for a girls holiday. I’m really looking forward to it and even though I’m getting up at 3am I just can’t get off to sleep. So I’ll bring back lots of pictures as well!

Tea Pots

Not a very interesting subject I know but I wanted to share with you my brand new tea pot. Today a package arrived at the post office for me (Woo i love getting mail) and inside was a present from a friend of Jeffrey's and mine. She'd been to sydney and bought us a tea pot. I think its really cool and love it!

This got me thinking and this is such a silly subject but still. Have you ever had someone buy you something and you love it BUT its not a very nice colour or the shape isn't what you'd like? So i was most suprised when this tea pot arrived becuase I love the shape, the colour and I love that its a bit different!!! I'd also just been thinking about the fact that the one I have is a little bit small and that I might need another one.

So this is why I have started to collect things for my house one day (jeff's too). I'll be the first to admit that I'm fussy, picky and too organised but I can't help it. Already I have most of the kitchen things (actually i pretty much have everything) and I have a book full of lists of things that I need to get. Everyone keeps telling me not to buy things because Jeff and I will get heaps for the engagment and wedding but I can't help it. I want everything to match and I want things that Jeff and I like. When we do get married we're going to spend some time making up a website of things we have and gift ideas of things we'd really like but like most people have told us, money will be the best gift.

In other news, I've worked 3 relief days this week teaching prep, Year 6/7 and another prep class. I half dread the phone ringing in the morning because I"ll have to work... but its got its good points too.

Thursday, June 19, 2008

The kids at school are always learning best when they can do hands on activities and discover things by 'doing'. Well i totally believe that we never grow out of this and we discover the best ways to do things by actually 'doing' them and even making mistakes with them.

Tonight i decided to make my own fresh bread, not because we needed bread but because I wanted to see if I could actually do it. Turns out I can make bread and it was such a great achievement. If you want to give it a try its actually not that difficult, this is what I did.

3 and half cups of plain flour
1 sachet dried Yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 and half cups lukewarm water (too hot will kill the yeast)
some melted butter for brushing the bread and greasing the pan

1. combind the flour, yeast and salt in a bowl.

2. Make a well in the middle and pour in the lukewarm water. Mix together til a dough forms
3. On a floured surface knead for about 5mins. When you can press a finger print in and it pops back out than its done. (Kneading mixs the yeast through properly so its important)

4. Brush the sides of a large bowl with melted butter and roll your dough around it so you lightly cover the sides of it (this stops the dough from drying out while it sits). Leave it to sit in a warm, dry places for about 1hrs or until its doubled in size. (In and oven that is off and not still hot is a good place)

5. After an hour take it out of the bowl and punch the dough once (this released the extra air) knead the dough on the floured surface until its back to its orignal size.

6. Break into two even pieces and mould into a small of the same shape.

7. Grease a loaf sized pan with the melted butter and put in the two pieces of dough, side by side. Brush with a little butter on top.

8. Cover with plastic and let them sit in a dry, warm place for 30mins (they will rise again)

9. Brush with water and add seeds of your choice.

10. Cook in the oven for 30mins. (Tap the bottom when its done and if its hollow than its cooked)

11. Take out of loaf pan straight away and rest til its cool and ready to cut.

In other news Jeff gets his car today so if anyone knows someone who wants to buy a black skyline than please give them my number!

Working Week

This week I have a few different things to share about. Things are just usual, working a few days a week and doing stuff around the house the rest of the time.

New Phone
So at last I got a new mobile phone. Its the same one as I had before because i really like it and it was cheap. So i've been adding pictures and new ringtones. I also got Jeff to help me get the pictures off my old phone at last!
Today I minded Aaron and Rachel's new puppy Shadow. It was such fun but alot of work. He's a really cutey and likes to chew everything. He also peed in different places. I'm really looking forward to getting a puppy one day (and a kitty as well).

Finding full time work for me has been very difficult for two reasons. 1. is that there really isn't many positions in primary school on the coast. 2. I can't drive so the school i can go to are very limited and I can't go out west. Also a few problem has come up where I might not be able to work without a teacher aid as EQ is worried about the safety of the children if I can't see them very well. So i'm praying that God is going to find me a job somewhere. At the moment it looks like I might be doing a 6 week contract next term to be assessed with my vision in the classroom. This is of course in its very early stages so who knows what will happen.

Closer to a house
After much prayer we've decided not to buy Songbird place even though we LOVE IT! Rather we are going to save, save, save and when we can afford to get a loan we'll look into it. After all if God wants us to have songbird place than he'll make it happen.

Love, Love, Love
My lovely boyfriend Jeff is great. He's been working very hard and I'm so proud of him. I'm a terrible person in the mornings and don't like to wake up. So this week I've been getting up at 6:30am (3 times so far) and making him breakfast before he goes to work! This also means that I can be awake to answer the phone if I get work. However I'm not enjoying the waking up!

Yet another week has gone by!

My bloggingness is very slack as of late. All I really have to write about is whats been happening during my week! I've done alot which is good and I've also picked up a second bout of the flu... ewww!

Talia had her 21st birthday party on Saturday night which was fantastic! Their new house is looking amazing, I can't wait to have my own place someday! Talia and Luke had decorated their house with candles, fairy lights, sparkles and balloons. It looked great!

Jeff and I have found a some land that we REALLY want. Its called Songbird Place and I just love the name so much. However its very expensive and well yeah, loans suck! So we are thinking and praying about it. Either way we'll just do what God wants.

We've also been doing a little more ring shopping YAY! I know what i like and now want to find a cheaper way to get it. So we're looking into getting our rings made somewhere. If you know anywhere good than let me know. Oh and I've got a little more teaching work, one half day and one whole day in prep!

So Blessed

Tonight I’ve been looking through all of my parents photographs of them before they had Chris and I, building their house and basically their lives and family. I’ve been doing this as I’ve just started my scrapbook all about my life so far and want photos for it. But it really got me thinking about my life.

I’m really excited about all of the amazing things ahead of me and I just realized the HUGENESS of the blessing which I have been given. I have a great family, I’ve got a God who loves me everyday no matter what, I have a wonderful boyfriend, I’ve been taught to have good values, I live in a great part of the world and I have nothing to worry about as God says he will provide all! How amazing is that!!! But some of the things I am most looking forward to are…

- Being proposed too
- Being engaged
- Planning Jeff’s and my wedding
- Having a wedding
- Buying/building a house
- Using all of my homewares
- Setting up a home
- Getting pets
- Having a life with Jeff
- Starting a family

I’m so glad that I have a great life and that I also know that I have a great life ahead of me! And I can’t wait to look back in 40yrs time and look at all my photos and remember when I was young and writing a blog about how I have so much to look forward too.

Raining Again

This has been a week of rain and sickness. Both Jeff and I have been sick with a cold, Jeff is home from work at the moment as he’s not very well. There has also been quite a bit of flooding around my house and the local roads! It’s been great cuddling up in bed weather!!! Kitty has been enjoying all the attention she’s been getting since we haven’t gone out much.

After church on Sunday we went to Coolum to check out where Jeff’s brother and his partner are planning on getting married and having their reception. They want the ceremony outside near the beach which is so beautiful. And their venue is on the rooftop of a hotel with STUNNING views as you can see in the picture!

Of course lots of wedding plans where tossed around that day which got Jeff and I thinking about what we want. Gardens, churches, flowers, colours, cars, dresses, rings, travel etc etc… what to have!!!! I’ve collected a few pictures of things I really like. We’ve also been discussing houses and loans. At the moment we have decided that we want to buy a piece of land and build a small house that we could later extend. I found a gorgeous place in Mooloolah called Songbird Place. I LOVE the name and what a fantastic address. We are also considering the idea of getting a loan before we are married and beginning to pay it off early but for now its just saving, saving, saving!

On the diamond front, we’ve not looked much more but are planning on heading down to Brisbane at some point to have a look around and I’m hoping some friends might come too!!! Oh and we found our knife set online for 50% off!!!!

Diamonds are a girls best friend!

Tonight Jeff and I went to late night shopping at the plaza and I was mainly looking for homewares. I love them at the moment!!! We found a GREAT knife set that had 30% off it in Myer... we are still thinking about whether to buy it!!

But while heading into Target I looked in the jewelry shop and found a gorgeous ring!!!! Now Jeff and I aren't ready to get engaged just yet but I'm always willing to look at rings!! This one was beautiful, 18c white gold with a princess cut diamond wedding ring set! It was stunning! So Jeff went in to find out how much this beauty cost and just had to take me back to try it on! It really was lovely. Very similar to the picture!!

However we're going to explore other jewelry places along the way to try and find something a little cheaper! It was lovely though and very fun to try it on!!!! So thats my first engagement ring experience!!!!

New Interests

I've been thinking about doing some scrapbooking for a while now and today Jeff took me to the craft shop to buy some goodies to get it started YAY! Because I've been making cards for a little while I've been collected a bit of craft stuff and started a box. So after my little spending spree today I now have a pretty pink album, lots of different papers, a variety of stickers, letters of all kinds, glitter glue, ribbon, gold and silve pens plus heaps of wrapping paper, bows and scraps of paper that I have collected! This album is going to be all about my life so far with lots of pictures, maybe stories, my interests, achievements etc! Than I might do one for Jeff and I! But we'll see how the first one goes.
I've been looking around for good scrapbooking stuff at cheap prices and have found Crazy Clarks to be good and some of the stuff on ebay it pretty good too!!! So if you like you're scrapbooking have a look in those places!!!

Also, Jeff has decided to learn how to do Calligraphy, which I think is great. Today he bought a book on how to do it and a little bottle of ink. My dad gave him some pens that mum used to use so that he can practice! Its looking great and I can't wait til he's a pro. AND also in other news, today Jeff's dad made us German Pancake. It was very different and really yummy. You have to make a pancake mixture which has 6 eggs in it and bake it in the oven for 20mins. It has to be eaten with icing sugar and maple syrup to make it taste SOOOO Yummy!

Weekly Adventures

Last night Jeff told me that he's always tired even though for the past few nights he's been going to bed resonably early. I pointed out to him that he gets up early, work for 8hrs and either comes to my house and we do something or he goes to Tafe. Most people aren't ALWAYS doing something and I find that even I get tired a lot because we are always on the go! It means that life is never boring or dull!!!! These are a few of the things we did this week.

It was Hollie's 21st party - Cowboys and Indians!

We took the youth group Ice Skating on Friday night.

Also this week my vege garden has grown a little taller!!!

Thoughts and Prayers

As of late a lot of people have been asking me when Jeff and i will be getting engaged/married! Of course we want to get married however we want this to happen in God's time not ours! The other night we had a huge discussion about when we should get engaged and following that, when we should actually get married. There have been some things which I wouldn't say 'stand in the way' but more have to be decided on. Some of these included the church we will go too, where we will live, how we will use our money (loans, pets, rent etc), when Jeff will go to police training, how long we will wait to get married, how much money we want to start off with etc etc etc. Now I'm not the sort of person to leave things to chance so i want these discussed before hand! We've now made most of our decisions and I am more than happy with them and in others we are working towards them.

When I was first facing making some of these decisions I felt completely overwhelmed and just didn't want to think about it. But with God in my life these things have been SOOO much easier than I thought and Jeff has been very supportive and understanding especially of the fact that i'm a female and don't really know what i want!!!!!

But for now, I would like to ask everyone who reads this blog to keep Jeff and I in your prayers. Pray for God's divine plan to unfold for us in His time and that we will know for certain when to get engaged and when to get married.

Rachel's 21st

Today is Rachel West's 21st YAY!!!! And myself, Hollie and Aaron organised a special 21st party for her! We used the church and had a formal night complete with candles and fairylights!!!! We kept it a suprise (she didn't figure out too much) and invited alone all her friends!

Hollie and myself had alot of fun setting up all day and figuring out how we wanted the room to look! It was also great being able to dress up and I'm pretty sure Rachel had a very special night! We also organise a suprise breakfast with all her close friends on the morning of the party as she had mentioned that she thought that would be nice!!!

Also to check out some pictures of Kevin and Jeff destorying and old laptop head this way...

Something Great about being a Christian!

There are SOOO many great things about being a christian like having the love of God everyday of your life but one thing I have recently expereince is the amazing love of others. I'm not saying that only Christians can show this sort of love but this is just the love I have seen this week.

Luke and Talia have recently moved out of the first place they lived at as a married couple and have move into their newly built house! However both of them are very busy people and moving/cleaning is a huge job! So they asked their friends to help moved and clean!

Now giving a gift is a lovely thing to do, it can brighten up a person's day or let them know you care for them! But giving up you're time is one of those things that doesn't cost money but shows just how GREAT your love is for a person. Aaron, Rachel, Jordan, Pete, Kathryn, Jeffrey and myself all helped out with moving and cleaning for Talia and Luke and I just thought this was such a special thing. And it just showed me how wonderful the love of people can be, especially those who have put their trust in God! It's also wonderful to know that the support of the friends that I have is HUGE and I am never without a helping hand if I just ask! Check out a few pictures here.

An update on my garden! I have just planted all of the seeds and seedlings at last!! My herb garden has been planted for a little longer so it seems to be settling well. This is what I'm growing.

Herb Garden
Parsley, Oregano, Chives and Basil
Vege Garden
Peas, Lettuce, Carrots, Parsnip, Spring Onion and Celery.

I'd like to grow other things but these are the only Autumn/winter vegetables I could plant at the moment. I'm also hoping to plant some pumpkins!!! But they take up a lot of room. So now I'm just watering every day and waiting for some action!!!!!
